The Who, What, and Why Behind RSAC
Our Story
Who We Are and Where We're Headed
As the cybersecurity industry's convening authority, RSAC brings together diverse minds to exchange perspectives, knowledge, and ideas—providing a year-round platform for uniting and advancing the cybersecurity community with the goal of creating a safer society. At the cutting edge of innovation and education, RSAC's flagship event, RSAC™ Conference, stands as the largest and most influential global gathering in cybersecurity, giving professionals a place to connect, grow, and shape the future of the field.
RSAC and RSA Conference are not part of RSA Security. As an independent organization, our mission is to unite and empower the global cybersecurity community—professionals, companies, and service providers worldwide.
"Cybersecurity, Together" reflects a core belief: meaningful progress in cybersecurity happens through collaboration. Protecting the digital world—from ransomware and data breaches to emerging threats in AI and machine learning—requires people, organizations, and ideas working together to share insights and collective intelligence across roles, sectors, and borders.
Our mission at RSAC has been clarified to reflect its expanded role: to unite and empower the world's cybersecurity community to create a safer society. This mission guides all RSAC experiences—from Conference programming to year-round programs, education, and research topics that keep the community informed and connected.
RSA Conference is an annual, in-person event where 44,000+ cybersecurity professionals come together for sessions, Keynotes, and networking. RSAC Membership extends that value year-round—giving you on-demand access to the Library, Daily Briefs, and Community so you stay informed and connected between RSA Conferences.
Talk about RSAC as a platform for advancing the cybersecurity community—not just an event. Emphasize innovation, strategy, and the collective effort to shape what comes next—from emerging technologies to AI and beyond. RSAC is where security leaders, experts, and practitioners come together to tackle the field's most pressing challenges and drive the agenda forward.
RSA Conference began over 35 years ago as a user conference for customers of RSA. RSA is an acronym made up of the first letters of the last names of the three co-founders of the computer security company: Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir, and Leonard Adleman.
